Bannan joins Leeds.

Villa’s promising midfielder Barry Bannan has joined Leeds United on loan for the remainder of the season.  The Scottish international has many Avfc fans salivating at the prospect of the player he could be, and this has to count as good experience for the youngster.

Bannan’s early season form was impressive and earned him a call up to the full Scotland international squad.  However, he has dropped down the pecking order since the arrival of Jean II Makoun from Lyon and with Fabian Delph returning to fitness after long term injury – this appears a sensible move on the clubs part.  Bannan’s most recent appearance came in the dire fixture against Man City in the FA Cup.

Bannan will offer precise passing and a creative eye to a Leeds squad chasing promotion to the Premiership – a role that he fulfilled admirably whilst on loan at Blackpool last season.  Villa can recall Bannan at any point after the first 28 days – in the event that cover is required in the midfield.
