Whilst Villa’s loan deal and unveiling of Philippe Coutinho has captured the most attention in recent days, this is another big piece of tranfer news looming.

As was reported last week, Digne’s public falling out with Rafa Benitez has played into Villa’s hands, with the French international now permitted to leave Goodison Park.

It’s been confirmed that the two clubs have now agreed a transfer fee, which is thought to be in the region of £23m-£25m.

The 28 year old French international is now expected to under-go a medical before officialling switching to Villa Park.

Digne hasn’t been selected in the first team since criticising Benitez’s tactics in early December. The Spaniard has been vocal too, publicly criticising of the defender’s attitude as Everton wrestle with a malaise on the field and FFP challenges off it.

In what remains an interesting and surprising development, it was revealed just yesterday that Anwar El Ghazi’s time at Villa could well be up.

The Dutchman looks set to be heading in the opposite direction as Digne, with Everton eager to take the wideman either on loan or permanently. This is a deal entirely unconnected that of the wantaway Frenchman Digne, but is clearly moving at pace.

El Ghazi has been understood to be undergoing a medical today, before completing a deal that will see him join The Toffees for the remainder of the campaign.

To secure the former Ajax and Lille players services permanently, Villa are holding out for a valuation in the region of £15m.

Villa have also sanctioned a deal that sees 19 year old Caleb Chukwuemeka join Scottish side Livingston for the rest of the campaign.

The striker, who came through the Northampton academy before making 26 appearances, has scored 7 goals in 11 appearances for Villa’s U23’s. Caleb remain a very exciting prospect indeed.

Chukwuemeka is expected to go straight into the Livingston squad to face Dundee in the SPL this weekend.

Seperately Villa will be keen to tie Caleb’s brother Carney down to a new deal. Rumours circulated earlier this season that Carney Chukwuemeka was unhappy with a lack of first team opportunities, with a host of top European sides monitoring his contractual situation.
