Promotion Promotion Promotion

It’s the word on every Villa fans lips.  We cover off the importance of this season, not just in terms of dragging ourselves back into the big time, but preventing a FFP nightmare unfolding.

Pre-Season to New-Season

Whilst the close season included a bizarre mish-mash of confusing friendlies for Villa, we take a look at the alternatives on offer in the close season.  Between My Old Man Said & The Villa Underground we took in The Open, Champions Trophy, T20, some global travel and lurked near Sienna Miller’s dressing room.  All in a days work

What’s the Plan?

As the new season is now upon us, we look at how the lack of a clear playing style continues to hamper the side.  Despite significant investment, in seemingly the right players, Bruce needs to get things to gel quickly or find himself under the scrutiny of an ambitious Dr. Tony.

Villa England

The club was massively over-represented at the recent Soccer 6’s tournament – hear about the plethora of Villa greats *cough* called up to the Three Lions, how they fared & learn about the only World Cup winner to have played at Villa Park lifting the trophy.

Out With The Old

Despite the reinvigoration of the squad, what is the obsession with revisiting players who have consistently let the club down?  Leandro Bacuna, subject of jeering after an ineffective substitution against Hull, comes under the spotlight.

We then open the floor to listener questions, considering:

  • What are the implications of not getting promoted – and who might we reasonably expect to jump ship if things go sour?
  • With the arrival and Chelsea legend John Terry, how can Villa prevent it simply being a media circus about and around him?
  • When will we see a clear playing style and formation?
  • Are we fans craving “sexy” signings rather than the unfashionable players we probably need?

Also Featuring…

Mile Jedinak, still stuck in the jungle, has his say on the arrival of Glenn Whelan, whilst Negatron injects some madness for good measure.
