Villa have confirmed that exciting Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham has agreed to join the club on loan for the remainder of the season.
Following the important acquisitions of wide men El Ghazi (Lille) and Bolasie (Everton), Villa had looked decidedly limited in striking options with just Jonanthan Kodjia.
With Hepburn-Murphy looking far from the finished article, Hogan & Davies injured, Bruce has been pressed to act in ensuring Villa have the firepower to mount a promotion challenge.

Abraham remains one of the most exciting young prospects in English football, something that current national boss Gareth Southgate rewarded with a call-up for the 20 year old.
Despite a difficult season with Swansea that culminated in relegation, Abraham managed 5 goals in 31 Premier League appearances. More relevant was the striker’s superb return for Bristol City in 2016/17, netting 23 in 41 Championship games.
Abraham told the club’s official website:
“I’m excited for this new chapter. Aston Villa are a big club that belongs in the Premier League and I’m here to help them achieve that.
“At this stage of my career, I need games and this is a great place for me to come and showcase my talent. I can’t wait to get started.”
Intriguingly, the brand new CEO Christian Purslow has been cited as key towards ensuring that Villa pulled off a ‘coup’ loan deal for Abraham. The 54 year old clearly isn’t wasting any time.  You can read more about our newly appointed Chief Executive, his history, achievements and challenges, here.
Tammy Abraham has been pursued by a number of clubs throughout the transfer window and it was thought that a deal was remote given his proximity to the Chelsea first team. However, Villa appear to have pulled of both a shrewd and effective piece of last gasp transfer business.
The attention for Villa and potentially Abraham turns to an away clash at Sheffield United tomorrow..
