Aston Villa Loan Latest: 19 Year Old American Striker Makes Season Long Switch

Indiana Vassilev Aston Villa

Promising USA youth international Indiana Vassilev has joined League 1 side Burton Albion on a season long loan.

The 19 year old, who featured prominently amongst a number of Dean Smith squads last season, will gain valuable game and development time at the Pirelli Stadium.

We were of course hosted by Burton earlier this week, with Jack Grealish leading the charge to see Villa through to the third round of the Carabao Cup. Though Burton saw themselves ahead after just two minutes, Villa ran out 3-1 winners on the night.

The forward, who can play on either flank or in the number 10 role, now has a great opportunity to develop his game further. This move appears a sensible next step, especially with first team chances likely to be limited following the big money signing of Ollie Watkins.

There are also a raft of transfer rumours linking Villa with various attacking reinforcements, whilst there also remain question marks about Samatta’s immediate future and existing loan links for Keinan Davis.

Vassilev has made four senior appearances at B6, having made his debut for Villa last season. The youngster scored six goals in Villa’s development side that play in the U23 Premier League.
