LEROY FER
Leroy Fer is reported to be nearing a switch to Villa Park from Swansea City.
The 29 year old, who had been expected to move to Lille in France, with Swansea desperate to lower their wage bill.
However, Villa have shown interest and Fer is now believed to be undergoing a medical at Villa Park.
Villa have been struggling in midfield, despite a plethora of options, with injury, poor form and under-performance being a major concern.
Fer, The Swans Captain, would offer creative quality and an alternative option as Jack Grealish nears a return from long term injury.
It’s unclear at this stage whether the move would be permanent, with Fer having signed for an £8 million fee and commanding a significant wage.
However, as Villa look to support John McGinn in midfield and make a genuine attempt at the playoffs, Fer’s acquisition could be astute.
