In an interesting development, Villa looked to have moved to acquire 19 year old right back Lino Sousa from Arsenal. The youngster, who looks promising at youth level internationally, joins on a 4 and half year deal.Embed from Getty Images
Underlining his potential, Villa reportedly had to fend off interest from the continent with the likes of Juventus and Galatasaray monitoring his availability.
It’s believed that Sousa will immediately join Plymouth on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

After a great deal of speculation through most of January, the signing of Middlesbrough forward Morgan Rogers has been all but confirmed.
It has been widely reported that Boro have accepted an offer of around £15m with the player believed to have successfully passed a medical this evening. It’s thought that Rogers will sign a lengthy 5 and a half year contract at Villa Park.
It’s a bold step by Emery, especially having moved on promising academy products in the last transfer window. With that said, it might also be an inspired move too, for a player with 15 goal contributions already this term and having been on Manchester City’s books as recently as the summer.
The hold up to date has primarily revolved around the fee and how much of it is paid up front to Middlesbrough, with the Teeside club committed to passing a sizeable chunk of any sale back to City.
