Positive news on the injury to Charles N’Zogbia, with wide reports that he has returned to light training.
The former French U21 & senior international infamously suffered a serious achilles injury whilst holidaying in Miami in summer 2013. The party line remains old Charles was “keeping fit” at the time.
Whilst the performances of N’Zogbia have always been dependent upon the Frenchman’s personal interest and form, he has shown flashes of supreme talent.
He is undeniably a very skillful and talented player, whom would be a valuable option in the closing weeks of the Premier League. Further, our creativity and having a ‘Plan B’ has been something often lacking, perhaps N’Zogbia may provide that alternative?
Indeed, his vision and range of forward passing may be a tasty supply route to Benteke and co.
It is also interesting to note that he’s under contract at Villa until June 2016, so it may in our interests to rehabilitate a tricky player who has come neither cheap in transfer fee, nor wages.
Let us not forget his excellent match winning free kick against West Ham last season either:
