Villa today confirmed (following earlier reports) that Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes has officially joined the club.

‘Wesley’ therefore completes a club record transfer, transferring from Belgian side Club Brugge.

Whilst officially undisclosed, the fee is understood to be in excess of the £18 million that Villa splurged on Darren Bent in 2011.

Wesley’s move to Villa Park has been formally announced following confirmation of international clearance and the issuing of a work permit.

  1. I think we are all hoping that he can produce in the PL but I believe he will need help, personally I think Maupay would be a great signing but that’s all gone quiet so we will just have to wait and see but let’s hope we don’t wait too long .
