Villa finally discovered their opponents for the next round of the FA Cup this afternoon after Man City despatched of Notts County at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Villa’s previous encounters with City have been mixed – a genuine low this season was the 4-0 drubbing received in late December – but Villa’s recent improved form saw a fine victory at Villa Park in the reverse fixture.
Villa’s prospects? Much depends upon the Manchester City that turns up. Villa have already been on the wrong end of City’s attacking prowess – but in the form of Bent, Agbonlahor and Young there is enough to concern their back line. And having watched Notts County trouble City at times, it provides some optimism.
The cup tie is set for Wednesday 2nd March 2011 (K.O: 19:45).
