There’s nothing quite like an International break to bore your socks off, right?

To break the monotony, here are the most recent going’s on in and around B6:

Klose Linked To Villa (….& Spurs).

Veteran German goal machine Miroslav Klose has been suddenly linked with a move to the Premier League.  The 36 year old, would certainly be 5 years too late.  However, if there is any truth in the rumour, there are worse professionals to have around the first team & development squads than a player of his stature.

Neil Taylor Linked To Villa (…& Newcastle).

It must be the time of year whereby agents start trying to tout players around.  Taylor, currently first choice left back at Swansea, is out of contract this summer.  I can’t pretend to know a great deal, or indeed, have really noticed the 26 year old Welsh international.  However, given our temperamental left back spot, it’s not unreasonable to believe we are in the market for a replacement.

Dublin signs up to daytime TV.  Seriously.

It’s a bonkers world.  A world that now has Dion Dublin presenting ‘Homes Under The Hammer’.  If you care, read on.

Ticket Criteria Change Announced:

I didn’t think the original table was that complicated.  However, after moans, groans and some dubious customer service, the club announced some changes.  I’ve yet to work out exactly what these are, but the full details for those with an eye for detail are here.

In the modern age of online ticket sales and given that the allocation is less than that of Villa Park, the confusion seems avoidable.  With that said, given the need for recognition of loyalty and to ensure that those most dedicated fans get their seats, there is bound to be some issues.  With that said, why can’t you pick your seat?  What must they be sold in order?  What decade are we living in?

Delph In Line For England

Despite having been “battling a stomach bug” (what on earth could that mean?), Fabian has now linked up with the England squad for the qualifier against Lithuania.

Having committed his future to the club, Delph has been resurgent, with improving displays under Sherwood.  Delph might not be the finished article, and is still prone to lapses here and there, but, he has tenacity.  Further, he can offer something different to the England squad.  I truly hope he can dispel the myth that all he does is lunges & fouls and can contribute to a victory.

Benteke fit…dammit.

The news we have been dreading…Christian is typically declared fit to play for Belgium.  Hopefully he can come through this unscathed.  We have absolutely terrible luck with injuries for players released on international duty.

Grealish wins Ireland U21 Award.

A deceptive piece of news this.  A nice award for our up and comer, but telling, as it gives recognition to his efforts.  It will be interesting to see whether Jack commits to playing in the full Ireland set-up, thus preventing him turning out for England.  He has now, however, at least declared an interest.

It’s an interesting looming dilemma for the youngster, as you never know what the future might bring.  Compare that to “late-bloomer” Gary Gardner, currently shining at Forest.

And finally…the old bill are still on the look-out for these three following the recent derby.  Quiet week really, but then, no news is good news.
