Welcome to Saturday Villans; here are the latest transfer rumours and updates for all things Claret & Blue:

Joe Bennett looks set to join Fulham in a bid to end a Villa career that has never really got off the ground.  Whilst many still refer to Joe as a “youngster” the now 25 year old has made just 30 appearances since joining from Middlesbrough for £3 million in 2012.

Bennett has always struggled and a move on seems inevitable for the diminutive full back who also failed to impress on loan with Brighton last term.

Nicklas Helenius, has brought and end to a Villa career that will be remembered solely for him having his shorts pulled down in front of the Holte End.

Helenius, another who arrived with great promise, never made any breakthrough into the Villa side and was loaned back to AaB last season.  Villa have agreed to terminate the 24 year old Danes contract and he rejoins his former club on a free transfer.

The signing of Idrissa Gueye appears on temporary hold until a work permit is secured.  Villa are confident however, assuming this bureaucratic hitch can be resolved, that Gueye will complete his transfer this week.  A deal for around £9 million has been agreed with Lille and the Senegalese international formally agreed personal terms on Thursday.
