Villa are ramping up their interest in bargain attacking midfielder Tjaronn Chery.  The Dutch midfielder has recently been called into the Holland squad following an impressive season with Groningen, where he contributed both goals and assists.  Villa appear to have stolen a march on the competition & are eager to wrap up the deal, thought to be in the region of £3.5 million, as a matter of priority.

The Adebeyor links just will not go away.  No smoke without fire?  Spurs are believed to be offering the indifferent striker as a means to lure Villa into a deal for Christian Benteke.  There appear two major stumbling blocks on this deal coming off;  1)  Benteke’s desire to play at a top European Club – 2) Villa’s appetite to take on such a complex character like Adebeyor.  Still, stranger things have happened.

Hull have placed an absolutely bonkers £10 million pound price tag on winger Robbie Brady.  The link has been circulating since much earlier this summer & presumably would have progressed had it not been for the absurd fee demanded.  However, as time progresses, it will be interesting to see whether player power may ultimately dictate.

In equally bizarre news is a strong link for Aleksandar Tonev to Serie A monsters Roma.  The Italians are tabling a bid in the region of £2.8 million pounds to end the forgotten mans torrid Villa career.  This seems an incredible offer for a player who has shown very little on the pitch and was subject to a ban for racist remarks to an opponent whilst on loan with Celtic.
