Welcome to Monday, glorious Villans.

Ongoing rumours continue to circulate about Dennis Praet, the £10 million rated Anderlecht midfielder.  It’s believed that no bids have been submitted for the rising star, but that Villa are keeping tabs on his availability.

Praet would have to sacrifice Champions League football to join Villa, but a move to the Premier League and the exposure it would bring to the young Belgian would likely appeal.  Furthermore, linking up with fellow international team-mate Christian Benteke is a lure.

Hilarious comments again from single cell Mark Lawrenson.  In a desperate attempt to try and lure Benteke, he has written in the Liverpool echo that he has “heard” Belgian striker “fancies the move”.  After I’d stopped crying with laughter, I remembered that Benteke was not only too good for Liverpool, but that also, they couldn’t afford him.

In other news, our lesser neighbours, West Brom, have moved to sign Matt Phillips from QPR for a fee above his £7 million valuation.  Villa were briefly linked with the player earlier this summer as he was touted around every man, woman and child.
