Robert Snodgrass is reportedly set to arrive at Villa Park on a season long loan deal from West Ham.
The Scottish international is [already] deemed surplus to requirements by Slaven Bilic, despite only having joined The Hammers in a £10 million transfer in January.
Whilst Villa’s midfield options are buoyed by the emergence of talent from the Under-23 squad, Snodgrass would bring valuable Championship experience over a long campaign.
Whilst Sunderland & Birmingham have been heavily linked to the former Leeds players signature, Villa are likely in a strong position to bite the bullet on all or part of his £40-50,000 a week wage demands.
Given the proximity to Villa’s Friday night fixture with Bristol City, it’s unlikely he would feature if signed. Â However, a first glimpse of Snodgrass whom he is a regular for Gordon Strachan. Â Scotland face Lithuania & Malta on the 1st & 4th of September respectively.
