Villa don’t appear to be hanging about during this January transfer window.
We’ve already seen the signing of Barcelona and Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho and it appears that Villa are closing in on a deal for Lucas Digne.
Here are the latest transfer news and rumours from B6:
YVES BISSOUMA

The 25 year old midfielder has caught the eye with a string of impressive performances and with it interest from Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle. Villa are the latest club reported to be monitoring the situation but have lodged no formal interest or bid at this stage.
The Malian is currently away at the African Cup of Nations (alongside Villa’s Trezeguet and Bertrand Traore) and is valued at a whopping £50m.
The player, who has 18 months left on his current deal, had conditional bail extended until January 2022 for an alleged serious incident in summer 2021.
On this Brighton have only remarked:
“Brighton and Hove Albion are aware that one of its players is assisting police with the investigation of an alleged offence.”
“The matter is subject to a legal process and the club is therefore unable to make further comment at this time.”

DIGNE / EL GHAZI LATEST

The 28 year old French international has requested to leave Goodison Park, with a £25m move to Villa Park edging closer.
Villa look to be moving quickly to reinforce the left-back position, with Matt Targett having no senior competition since the retirement of Neil Taylor.
Anwar El Ghazi is rumoured to have been put forward as part of any deal. The Dutchman has been used sparingly this season and looks increasingly a fringe player with Steven Gerrard having a variety of midfield options to choose from.

KERR SMITH BID
Embed from Getty ImagesIt has been reported that Villa have submitted a bid for Dundee United youngster Kerr Smith.
The 17 year old has been valued by Villa at around 800k.
The right sided defender has broken through into senior football over the last year, making a small number of first team appearances (11).
Whilst Villa have been acquiring more seasoned players of late, there remains a strong focus upon identifying a purchasing young talent from across the UK and Europe. Indeed, 16 year old centre-half Josh Feeney, purchased from Fleetwood Town for a substantial fee, appeared on the subtitutes bench for the first time during Villa’s recent defeat at Brentford.
