The latest Aston Villa transfer news and rumour for Thursday 25th June 2020
Villa’s ‘most used sub’ has been linked with a swift exit from Villa Park in the event we are relegated.
Mahmoud Trezeguet’s agent William D’Avila’s comments on Turkish radio tout interest from Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
Whilst it’s inevitable that such reports begin to emerge, one wonders what such unsettling activity might have upon players at a time when focus on Villa’s survival is paramount.
Trezeguet overall has impressed in glimpses since arriving at Villa. Whilst a hard worker, a lack of pace has hampered him holding down a first team place.
Further, having been rewarded with a start against Newcastle, he was guilty of missing two glorious goalscoring opportunies.
Villa have been linked with Dijon winger Mounir Chouiar.
L’Equipe have reported that the 21 year old, playing his first season in the French top flight, is being monitored by a number of European clubs.
Chouiar has scored four times in twenty appearances, but has caught the eye due to his creativity, something that Villa sorely lack.
Olivier Delcourt, Dijon’s President has cautioned againt the promising midfielder moving too soo and is quoted;
Mounir is a very young player. He should have a full season with us before leaving.
Given Chouiar’s rising stock, any move would presumably be linked to Villa retaining Premier League status.
The winger is currently being tracked by Celta Vigo, Fiorentina, Parma and Sevilla. Closer to home, fellow Premier League Crystal Palace retain an interest. Villa would therefore face competition for the £9m rated player’s signature.
