Well, if there’s one thing that the new regime is certainly delivering then it is sweeping change at Villa Park.

The close season and transfer window of summer 2016 has seen unprecedented change in Villa’s playing staff, brought about not only by the manner of our relegation from the Premier League, but Recon Groups desire to see the club promoted within two seasons.

Our recent Podcast (Episode 3) covered the behind the scenes changes and reveals further details provided by Tony Xia and Keith Wyness at the recent fan consultation meeting.  You can hear all about that here.

A full break down of all Villa’s transfers in and out and included below, with links to each respective story for reference.

Aston Villa Signings 2016:

Ross McCormack (£12m rising to £14m from Fulham)

Jonathan Kodjia
(£11m rising to £15m from Bristol City)

James Chester (£8m from West Brom)

Aaron Tshibola (£5m from Reading)

Pierluigi Gollini (£4m from Hellas Verona)

Mile Jedinak (£4m from Crystal Palace)

Tommy Elphick (£3m from Bournemouth)

Ritchie De Laet (£2m from Leicester City)

Albert Adomah (Fee TBC from Middlesbrough):

Adomah joined Villa on deadline day from Middlesbrough.  The 28 year old Ghanaian international joins on a 4 year deal for an undisclosed fee.  Adomah joins with a solid set of stats: 24 goals in 131 games and having played a key part in helping Boro back to the Premier League.

The midfielder is credited with bringing “zest” to the side, was a fan favourite who provided moments of magic.

On the flip side, he has been criticised for inconsitency and for refusing to sign a new improved contract, which may have ultimately led to him arriving at Villa Park.
