The report, concerning 22 year old Villa midfielder Aaron Tshibola, featured the following headline:

It has since been removed.

Responses from Villa fans on Twitter, irrelevant of the story’s authenticity, does capture both the apathy & cynicism which understandably haunts us from the last few years.

As a club, we have infamously struggled to manage our pros.

Most recently this has included Jack Grealish’s exploits, Gabby Agbonlahor’s demise & Jolean Lescott public relations nightmare after a 6-0 drubbing by Liverpool.

Presumably in the event that the publication in question has made an error, then an apology will be forthcoming?

However, if the story develops in the other direction, it will be interesting to see how Villa responds to what would be another example of unwanted ill-discipline.

Either way, clarity should be provided promptly.

FA CUP EXIT

Villa tried hard but ultimately didn’t have the quality (or arguably an attacking game-plan) to overcome a Spurs side which had made 9 changes.
