Let’s face it, we need any distractions from the doom & gloom surrounding the club. Here are five memorable away goals ahead of a trip up the road to Stoke this weekend to lighten the mood.
Carles Gil
The result certainly wasn’t what we wanted, but the game will be remembered for an unbelievable assist from Adama Traore, expertly finished on the volley by Carles Gil.

Matthew Lowton
In a season where it seemed as likely as any that Villa would be relegated, Lowton pulled an absolute screamer out of the bag to secure 3 vital points against Stoke at the Britannia.
Fabian Delph
A game which we won despite being torrid throughout & which was secured courtesy of an an absolute piledriver from Snake.

Gabby Agbonlahor
After taking dogs abuse for almost 90 minutes, Gabby came up with the goods at the death. A perfect ball from Ashley Young saw Agbonlahor nod the winner in and caused an absolute riot in the away end. Superb.
Stiliyan Petrov
Wrong foot, half volley & from the half way line. What a footballer & Captain Petrov was. A fine goal in what was an eventual 6-0 drubbing of Derby on their own pitch.
