The latest transfer rumours and links at Aston Villa:
Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson has been linked to Villa Park following a flurry of goals in the top flight Swedish Allsvenskan division. The interesting part about these goals being that they were scored in a little over 1000 minutes. Villa are reported to be monitoring his availability alongside Leeds United.
The likelihood of Idrissa “Gana” Gueye remaining at the club appear slim, with frequent stories linking him away from B6. The strongest links appear to suggest that a move to White Hart Lane is on the cards.
Whilst Gueye seems to achieved some notoriety owing to decent statistics in our doomed Premier League season, the facts are that despite glimmers of quality in early season, there was very little to evidence the prospect of a top Premier League player lurking within him.

The inconsistent Carlos Sanchez is edging closer to departing as well, with strong reports from South America & Italy that he’s currently mulling offers from Fiorentina & Bologna.
The 30 year old will likely finalise a deal & transfer after the conclusion of the Copa America.
Tommy Elphick, Bournmouth’s stalwart but now surplus to requirements defender is rumoured to be potentially Di Matteo’s first signing. With Championship winning experience and the assurance of first team football at Villa, the deal may represent an ideal switch for both parties.
Elphick is noted for strength and reliability, but question marks have been raised about his pace. Bournemouth blog Cherry Chimes carries a full overview here.
The links just won’t go away for Jordan Amavi as the Frenchman continues his recovery from his horror knee injury. After links to Liverpool & AC Milan, Monaco are now keeping tabs.
Whilst Amavi still has much to learn, losing one of few promising recruits from 2015 would represent a blow.

Sunderland have released marmite striker Steven Fletcher, launching rumours as to where his next club will be. Celtic, Hull & Villa are early suitors, but there are big question marks after a dismal big money spell at The Stadium of Light. Fletcher’s goal return raises questions as well as his application, notably having more supercars than form.
