Villa’s pursuit of French striker Odsonne Edouard continues with the Celtic man now believed to be subject to a £30 million transfer valuation from Dean Smith.
Edouard is hot property not just from Villa’s perspective, with the 22 year old courting interest from a host of top European sides. However, Villa have a significant war-chest, the lure of Premier League football as well as the prospect of genuine regular first team action to offer.
However, a news report from north of the border suggests that Celtic are unwilling to sell their star striker, with Edouard also holding out for a move to a ‘bigger’ club.
Dean Smith will be under signficant pressure to add to Villa’s impotent strike-force, with Davis and Samatta goal-shy and Brazilian Wesley yet to return from a long term knee injury.
