Aren’t Saturdays without Aston Villa terrible?  Here’s your latest hit of all things Claret & Blue;

Micah Richards has said his farewells and will undergo a medical this Tuesday, ahead of a proposed free transfer from Man City.  This looks increasingly like a shrewd piece of business – particularly as Villa appear to have nipped in ahead of a number of other clubs.  Richards can only improve an utterly abysmal back line down at B6.

Aly Cissokho is a strange one.  He looked a real steal in the first few Villa showings, but faded badly, horrendously even.  Aly also has to be one of the worst crossers of a football currently playing professionally.  The story suggest that Villa are looking to dispense with his services, at 20k per week, and move him on to Italy.  Ciao.

A great deal has been made of Delph’s comments around Benteke considering a move away.  Our captain essentially said it was a choice for the big Belgian to make – which it is.  Few would begrudge Benteke a move to a top European club, but there is a growing sense that maybe Villa can retain his services…

Forgotten man Yacouba Sylla is close to an exit.  Istanbul

Basaksehir (who?) are the front runners to secure his signature.  Good luck to you with that one old chap.

Burnley are the latest side to be linked with Matthew Lowton.  They will, however, face competition from Derby & Middlesbrough who are also chasing his signature.  Either way, Lowton is likely on his way.
