Another week, another tricky tie. Many have written off Villa’s chances in Wales tonight, but this is arguably our first “winnable” fixture in recent weeks.
Whilst it might not change a great deal to our fate, it is an opportunity to improve our dismal points tally.
This game carries huge significance for Swansea and a win would go a long way towards securing top flight status for them for another season.
Depending upon which Swansea turn up, they will either come out raring to go or be a nervy outfit. A win would also see them complete the double over us. The reverse fixture sealing Sherwood’s fate.
In short, we might as well start blooding the peripheral youngsters given our all but certain relegation. Green, included late in the Spurs defeat would surely benefit from 90 minutes against an opposition needing to win.
Beyond that there has to be some rotation of faces. Too many are keeping their places whilst in terrible individual form. Some haven’t run nearly hard enough for the cause when it remained salvageable.
In a week that has seen wholesale changes from new chairman Steve Hollis, its time to replicate it on the pitch.
Prediction:
1-0 Villa.
