Christmas Eve: Latest Villa News, Boxing Day Wait & Podcast Part 1

Steven Gerrard Villa

Season’s greetings from The Villa Underground!

We’ve prepared some entertainment and Villa related updates across the festive period, but we’ll have to wait and see if the Boxing Day clash against Chelsea will go ahead.

At the time of writing 3 games have already been postponed (Liverpool v Leeds, Wolves v Watford and Everton v Burnley). Although the Premier League clubs and board have set out the criteria for cancellations, it still appears very much unpredictable as both Chelsea and Villa monitor available players day to day. Fingers crossed!

You can also keep a close eye on the latest Villa transfer news and rumour, with the January window fast approaching.

Villa look set to be raiding Coventry’s academy once again, with Isaac Moore likely to move to Villa Park.

Promising youngster Louie Barry hasn’t had much joy at Ipswich Town after a spell out injured. It’s expected that the 18 year old will be recalled and loaned back out to Swindon Town for the remainder of the season.

A more ambitious link is to that of South American goal machine Gabriel Barbosa. The striker is in fine form and reportedly being tracked by a number of European clubs. Sources are limited though when it comes to a Villa connection, so this is a rumour perhaps to be taken with a pinch of salt!

Don’t forget to tune into Part 1 of the MOMS Christmas Podcast. If you need something a little left-field, that won’t take itself too seriously across the festive period, then be sure to check it out.

Part 1 features a look back of the last 12 months at AVFC, the greatest Villa player (that isn’t Jack Grealish), Best LIMBS moments and best transfer dealings. There’s a festive spin, plenty of humour and it’s available across all major podcast hosts.
